James R. Garts, IIIJames Garts was born in Memphis, Tennessee, but given his first opportunity, he relocated to Colorado Springs to attend Colorado College. His collegiate studies ranged from physics and calculus to American constitutional history, yet he focused his interest upon the complex issues of social deviance and societal control. Following college, James immediately proceeded to Samford University, Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 2002.
James was first licensed to practice law in Tennessee and began his career in Memphis where he engaged in a broad variety of disciplines from criminal law and restraining orders to medical malpractice defense and other civil matters. Consistent with his life goals, James returned to Colorado in 2006, sat for the Colorado Bar Exam and obtained his second licensure. Although proud of the variety of his experience in Memphis, he now focuses his practice on family law and considers it a most honorable pursuit. James’ education, personal and professional experiences motivate his desire to seek equity and truth through professional litigation. His conscientious disposition promotes working toward voluntary resolution of disputes between parties.
During his free time, James is an avid road and mountain bicyclist and is dedicated to the cause of the friendly and common use of trails and roads.
